Billie Systems, Inc. ("Billie," "we," "us") helps people see and understand what's in their own public legal record. This policy explains what information we collect through our waitlist and free BIllie Scan, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to billiescan.com and the Billie app once it launches.

Information We Collect

We collect only what's needed to join the waitlist and run your scan:

• Contact details — your email address, and your name and state once you run a scan.
• Scan inputs — the minimum identifying details (like date of birth) needed to search public records accurately.
• Survey responses — if you choose to answer our optional subscriber survey.
• Optional identity verification layer — government ID, SSN, biometric, selfie match

How We Use It

We use your information to run your Billie Scan, notify you when your state launches, respond to questions, and improve Billie. If you give explicit written consent, we may also feature an anonymized version of your story on our Community Stories page.

What We Don't Do

• We never share a subscriber's story publicly without their explicit written consent.
• We never use your record against you — Billie exists to help you understand it.
• We never sell your information to advertisers, employers, or background-check companies.

How We Protect It

Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside Billie is limited to what each team member needs to do their job. More detail lives on our Trust & Security page.

Your Rights & Choices

• Request a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Delete your account and associated data at any time.
• Unsubscribe from waitlist emails using the link in any message.

Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the waitlist and scan features, or until you ask us to delete it.

Children's Privacy

Billie is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll let waitlist subscribers know by email before the change takes effect.
